It's sad but true--the server status script was slowing down the site too much. Not to mention the bandwidth it took by simply sending ICMP to another PC... gah. In slightly less geeky terms, it took a while to work up the courage to knock on the door of its crush's apartment, and she didn't open it up.

For those following my twitter feed (it's over there -->), I finally did manage to finish the movement animations for both player and NPC sprites. I'm working on figuring out a method of having a repeated animation for flying sprites like birds, bats, bees, etc, etc. After all, they don't simply float in mid-air without movement!

EDIT: I'll leave you all with a screenshot, I guess.

I finished the front page mostly last night, and fixed up some of the details this afternoon. Unfortunately it seems as though both the server check script as well as the twitter widget slow the loading time to a crawl.

I'll be looking into that more later, but for now I should get started on actual game development. Be sure to look forward to it!
